in Switzerland seeks to employ

Social Secretary post in the Office of the Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international Organisations in Switzerland

A. Requirements
* A Minimum of 12 Years schooling certificate
* A recognized Personal Assistant or Secretarial Diploma/Certificate/Degree or equivalent
* A minimum of 3 years of continuous secretarial and administrative support experience and with exposure to international dignitaries, diplomats, government officials and business leaders.
* Proficiency (oral and written) in both French and English
* Knowledge of inter-state protocol and etiquette
* Knowledge of social media tools, and website updating

B. Key duties and Responsibilities

* Provide secretarial support service in the office of Ambassador and render administrative support in the office of the Ambassador, including managing the diary and programming, planning and organizing of the social and cultural events for the Ambassador
* Serve as a link between the manager and stakeholders such as the UN institutions and other international organizations
* Prepare and process documentation (general mail) in the office of Ambassador
* Drafting of diplomatic correspondences as required (under supervision)
* Do research and work with social media
* Planning all events at the Ambassador's Official Residence including: drawing up guest lists, sending invitations, taking responses, following up on non-responders, creating seating plans, maintain records of guest lists and maintain database, etc.

* Management and programming of travel arrangements

* Diary management
* Organization/Team fit.
* Knowledge/understanding of the South African government's culture and procedures will be an added advantage.
* High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. This position requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy and discretion.
* Strong communication ability, both written and oral is required. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, and the ability to develop a personal network.
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle the pressure of juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.
* Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays when so required for official purposes (e.g. National Day).

The South African Permanent Mission is competitive employer.

Appointments are subject to security (police clearance certificate) and medical clearance. Only candidates holding a valid Swiss Residential Permit or Work Permit will be considered.
